Welcome

Hi, I’m Jack Geldenhuys, a proud Hermanus local with a love for nature and a passion for sharing everything Hermanus has to offer. My years of experience in conservation, guiding, and hospitality make each tour both fun and informative.

I provide several educational and informative guided walks in and around Hermanus. Specializing in Fynbos and marine life, particularly whales, my tours offer an inclusive and immersive "walk & talk" experience through Hermanus's most famous locations. I aim to deliver personalized guided walking experiences that delve into the rich history and culture of Hermanus.

So, if you’re up for a “walk & talk” that’s both engaging and educational, come explore Hermanus with me!

A bit about my background: I hold a Diploma in Environmental Management and a B-Tech in Nature Conservation. I’ve guided all over—from managing concessions in Tanzania to leading rafting trips on the Orange River. I also worked as a sommelier at Creation Wines. Now, I’m leading tours for the Hermanus Camino, focusing on fynbos, marine life, and the rich culture and history of Hermanus, giving visitors a true feel for this incredible place.
Sincerely
Jack Geldenhuys

Penguins

Located in the quaint coastal town of Betty's Bay, just outside of Hermanus, the Stony Point Nature Reserve is home to a unique colony of African Penguins.
The colony is situated on the historic site of the old Waaygat Whaling Station, which was used to harvest and process whale meat in the early to mid-1900s. Remnants of this long-defunct industry's infrastructure can still be found at the site.
